Lord Voldemort Day – December 31st
Tom Marvolo Riddle was born on this day in 1926, in Wool’s Orphanage, London. The product of a union between Merope Gaunt, a descendant of Salazar Slytherin, and Tom Riddle Sr., a Muggle. Early signs of his extraordinary magical abilities surfaced during his childhood, catching the attention of Albus Dumbledore, who saw potential in the boy. Tom excelled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and eventually became Head Boy.
After graduating from Hogwarts, Tom embraced his new identity as Lord Voldemort and began a reign of terror within the wizarding world. He assembled a group of wizards and witches, called Death Eaters, dedicated to establishing a pure-blood regime and eliminating Muggles and Muggle-borns. Voldemort’s successful pursuit of dark magic and his creation of horcruxes to attain immortality made him the most formidable adversary. The wizarding community developed a deep fear of invoking his name, believing that doing so would attract his attention and potentially lead to retaliation.
