World Bollywood Day – September 24th

Bollywood refers to the Bombay Hindi film industry and associated dancing styles. Bollywood grew up in the 1930s as a way to spread messages about social issues, and then it took off. Bollywood produces about 1,000 films every year, twice as much as Hollywood, and directly employs about 250,000 people. Bollywood films have spread to the international market in the last couple of decades, and there are now Bollywood Dance classrooms in major cities all over the world.
