Cappuccino Day – November 8th

Holiday: Peter Weyland Day

The word “Cappuccino” is derived from the Capuchin friars in Italy. The word is derived from the word for a hoodie or head covering. The coffee beverage was named after the color of the friars’ hooded robes.
A cappuccino is one of the most difficult espresso-based beverages on the barista’s menu as it requires close attention to the foam ratio while steaming the milk. A practiced barista will also include a pattern or image on top of the foam with a toothpick or other tool. Patronize your favorite small coffee shop today to celebrate.
